ACA were thrilled to have Sydney based writer/director, the ever talented Rebekah Jackson, in the ACA Writer’s Room this week. ACA actors and students had engaged in a table read of Rebekah’s debut feature film in development, ‘Jellybean’, a coming-of-age story based on the life of para-swimmer Ella Jones.
Most recently, Rebekah’s directorial debut, the award-winning short film ‘For the Girl in the Coffee Shop’ premiered to a sold-out audience at the historic TCL Chinese Theatres in Hollywood; in competition for the Oscar-qualifying Dances with Films; before going on to screen over 50 times worldwide, winning Best Original Music for a Short Film at the Australian Screen Music Awards; and presented for Philippine-Australia Friendship Day by the Australian Consulate in the Philippines. The film is now screening in regional towns around Australia with Flickerfest’s ‘Best of Australian’ tour.
We are so excited to be apart of Rebekah’s journey!
