Lauren Edwards grew up in Queensland, where she discovered her devotion to the performing arts through dance. In high school she became an avid member of the Drama Extension Program, and with her teacher’s encouragement she took part in open workshops. In Brisbane, she completed NIDA Acting for Grades 11-12 over 6 months, then completed NIDA Acting Techniques in Sydney, tutored by Danny Ball.
In 2021, Lauren completed the Diploma of Dance, Elite Performing Arts at Brent Street Studios. She came to ACA at 19 beaming with joy to collaborate and strengthen her acting craft. During her time at ACA Lauren played Anya in The Cherry Orchard, Friar Laurence in Romeo & Juliet, Mary Brenham in Our Country’s Good, Cecile Volanges in Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Denyse Kim in Banging Denmark, and Friendship/Beauty in Everybody.
This year, Lauren was assistant director for Lost & Found, ACA’s Writers Group show, a collective of young writers across ACA’s three cohorts, built on a shared love of creative writing. Alongside assistant directing, she was producer, author, actor, props/costumes manager, and set designer.
Aside from acting, Lauren loves cooking, gardening, visiting her family farm in Queensland and exploring Sydney with her sisters.
